It’s time to look under couch cushions for pennies! The 7th Annual Penny Wars Fundraiser will be held February 10-14. Venado will be donating funds collected to the Orange County Rescue Mission to help homeless adults & children. In order to encourage student and staff participation, this fundraiser is also a competition between 6th period classes for a pizza and ice cream party! Each 6th period class will have a small collection container. Students are encouraged to bring in as many pennies as they can, because pennies = positive points! However, what’s a war without sabotage? To sabotage other 6th period classrooms, students throughout the day can add other coins and bills to other classrooms, which would create negative points for that classroom. For example: if students in Mrs. Adelman’s 4th period class want to sabotage her 6th period class, they would put in coins/bills (nickels, dimes, quarters, $1, $5, $10, $20, $100), anything other than a penny, into her container to make her 6th period class lose points.
This is how students earn points for their 6th period classes:
❏ 1 penny = +1 point
This is the point system used to sabotage other classes:
❏ 1 nickel = -5 points
❏ 1 dime = -10 points
❏ 1 quarter = -25 points
❏ 1 dollar= -100 points
❏ 5 dollars = -500 points
❏ 10 dollars = -1,000 points
❏ 20 dollars = -2,000
❏ 100 dollars = -10,000 points
Thank you for helping support Orange County Rescue Mission.
