Honor Code

Venado offers a safe and nurturing environment in which to learn.

As a Positive Behavior and Supports (PBIS) school, it is important to teach the expected behaviors and define our Venado school culture from day one (HONOR):

  • Honest

  • On-Time

  • Noble

  • On-Task

  • Respectful and Responsible

Students will learn to demonstrate appropriate positive behaviors throughout our campus, including in classrooms, the Library, the Commons, hallways, lunch area, and restrooms.

  • Positive behavior is acknowledged and shaped systematically through the use of HONOR Cards, weekly prize drawings, and other incentives.

  • Students are expected to follow the HONOR Code not only at school, but in the home and community.

  • Our Expect Respect Program, which is part of our PBIS program, promotes respectful communication and interaction among students and teaches safe and pro-social ways of dealing with disrespect.
