Student Support

SCHOOL COUNSELING

The Venado School Counseling Team follows the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model, which emphasizes supporting students' academic achievement, social-emotional well-being, and college/career exploration. Additionally, our counseling team works collaboratively with administrators, teachers, parents, and the community to support students' educational and personal aspirations. Our data-driven program includes individual, group, and classroom interventions designed to promote student success and high school readiness. As specific lessons are presented to students, presentations will be available to view under the "Guidance Lessons" tab located within each domain.

These services include short-term individual or group counseling for students at the school site; short-term, solution-focused therapy for students and families through the IUSD Family Counseling Center; and resource linkages to community-based mental health or social services for students and families. Services are provided by counselors or licensed mental health professionals. Please contact a school counselor or administrator if you would like to access support or are interested in more information about the support available.
