March Music Madness!

Please join the Venado Music Department as we share music from every talented ensemble on campus! Below are the dates, times and location of each event. Details for every performance can be found on the CANVAS music page, as well as letters that will go home with each music student in the next 2 weeks. Come out and enjoy these amazing music concerts and our talented musicians!

● Jam Session: Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 6:30 & 7:30 p.m. - A two-part concert featuring performances by the Venado Jazz Ensemble, Venado Choir with special guests from the Deerfield 6th Grade Choir. We will perform our festival programs in preparation for the SVCA Vocal Festival and IRvine HS Jazz Festivals the following week.

○ 6:30 p.m. - Choir performance in the Music Theater

○ 7:30 p.m. - Jazz ensemble performance in the Commons

● Festival Concerts: Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 6:30 & 7:40 p.m. - A two-part concert featuring performances by the Venado Bands and Orchestras. We will perform our festival program in preparation for the University HS SCSBOA Festivals the following week.

○ 6:30 p.m. - Bands perform in the commons.

○ 7:40 p.m. - Orchestras perform in the commons.

● SCVA Choir Festival: Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.- The Venado Choir will be traveling to Segerstrom High School where they will participate in a SCVA Choir Festival to be critiqued and scored on our performance.

● University High School Orchestra Festival: Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 10:50 a.m. - The Symphonic Orchestra will be traveling to University High School where they will participate in a SCSBOA Orchestra Festival to be critiqued and scored on our performance. Parents are welcome to attend, free of charge.

● University High School Band Festival: Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 10:50 a.m. - The Symphonic Band will be traveling to University High School where they will participate in a SCSBOA Band Festival to be critiqued and scored on our performance. Parent’s welcome to attend free of charge.

● Irvine High School Jazz Festival: Saturday, March 21, 2020, Time TBA - The Jazz Ensemble will be competing with other middle school Jazz Ensembles from Southern California at the Irvine High School Jazz Festival where we will also be critiqued and scored on our performance. Parents are welcome to attend for an entrance fee. More information to follow.

Concert Dress Reminder - Venado Dress Code applies

The performance dress consists of all black clothing (a black collared shirt/blouse, black dress pants or skirt with black socks/tights and black dress shoes). NO jeans, tennis shoes or beach sandals.
