On March 9, students from Venado competed at the county level of the National History Day Competition. A total of twenty-seven students participated by entering exhibit boards, documentaries, essays, and websites to fit the competition’s theme of “Triumph and Tragedy” in History. The competition was a great success!
Three students won Judge’s Choice Awards: Swara K. and Prakruthi P. were honored with the “Optimist Award,” while Eli R. took home the award for “Outstanding Videography.”
Three entries, for a total of five students, were named Finalists for consideration to go onto the state competition: Ashlynn W., Megan L. and Kimberly L., Maddie K. and Syeda S. The latter two groups won and are advancing to the State National History Day Competition in Sacramento.
We would like to congratulate the outstanding achievements of all our students who participated at the site, county, and now state level!
