ENGLISH LEARNER ADVISORY COMMITTEE

If you are the parent of an English Learner at Venado, we would like to invite you to attend the first English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) meeting of the school year. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 4, from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in room 113. Topics to be discussed include important school policies and information about English Learner instruction at Venado. A survey will also be conducted in order to better provide parents the support they want and need. The English Learner Advisory Committee advises the principal and school staff regarding the school’s program for English learners. The ELAC also advises the School Site Council (SSC) on the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). ELAC meetings are also a great place for parents to connect, ask questions, and get important information regarding your student’s education and how to better support them at home and prepare them for high school.
