ELAC | First Meeting of 2020-21 | Tuesday, September 22

If you are the parent of an English Learner at Venado, we would like to invite you to attend the first ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) meeting of the school year. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 22. Due to Covid-19, the meeting will not be held in person, but a video and Google Form will be sent out via email. Topics to be discussed in the video include important school policies as well as strategies for supporting your student during Distance Learning. A survey will also be conducted in order to better provide parents the support they want and need. The English Learner Advisory Committee advises the principal and school staff regarding the school’s program for English learners. The ELAC also advises the School Site Council (SSC) on the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) which guides our administrative team on how to allocate funding to better improve student achievement. ELAC meetings are also a great place for parents to connect, ask questions, and get important information regarding your student’s education and how to better support them at home and prepare them for high school.
