DEAFinitely COOL

October will be a busy month for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program at Venado! Soon we will be announcing our Battle of the Books teams. This year, Venado will have two teams: one for the Blue Division and one for the Green Division. After team members are announced, books will be distributed so our players can get busy READING in preparation for the preliminary competition in November. More details will be shared in our November newsletter so keep an eye out!

On October 29, the theater group, Sunshine 2.0 will be putting on a performance and doing a workshop with our DHH students. Sunshine 2.0 is a professional traveling theater troupe based at Rochester Institute of Technology’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) in Rochester, New York. The troupe provides performances and activities for deaf and hard-of-hearing children and adults that highlight the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEaM), as well as educational topics pertaining to the Deaf experience. We are super excited to have them here with us!
