Chromebook Return for 8th Grade Students

May 23, 2023
All Day

Venado’s end of the year Chromebook return will take place on Tuesday, May 23. Only 8th grade students will return their Chromebooks during their Science classes to Mrs. Crammer in the Venado library. 7th grade students do NOT need to return their Chromebooks. They will keep their borrowed Chromebooks over the summer unless they are leaving Irvine Unified School District. If your 7th grade student will not be returning to Venado next year, please follow the instructions below for 8th grade students.

It is essential that 8th grade families return the following items: 1.      Chromebooks (If lost or damaged, see below)

AND

2.      Chromebook chargers (If lost or damaged, see below)

Please be sure your child returns their Chromebook and charger even if they are attending summer school. Venado will be collecting Chromebooks from all 8th grade students. After students return their Chromebooks to Venado, 8th grade students attending summer school will receive a  Chromebook at their designated summer school site.

Damage Assessment:  If you did not choose to purchase the IUSD Chromebook insurance for your child, and their device is damaged, typical repair costs for things like a broken screen or keyboard can range from $30-$75 depending on the model. The cost of the repair will be assessed as a fine to the student’s record in Destiny.

Loss: If the Chromebook charger is damaged beyond repair, lost, stolen or unreturned to the school, the full replacement value of $35 will be assessed as a fine. If the Chromebook is damaged beyond repair, lost, stolen, or unreturned to the school, the full replacement value of $225 will be assessed as a fine.

If your child has a lost or damaged Chromebook or charger from Venado, you may pay for your damaged or lost Chromebook/charger amount to Mrs. Crammer by coming to the front office. Please pay by check or cash. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Crammer at  andreacrammer@iusd.org.

You may also pay through MySchoolBucks (MSB). If you already have an MSB account, you will see library/textbook fines as “invoices” that you can choose to “add to cart” and then pay by credit card or ACH.
