Second Trimester Ends

Friday, February 28, 2020 marked the end of the second trimester. Report cards will be available for viewing on the Parent Portal on Friday, March 6. Please log on to your Parent Portal account to review your child’s grades and have a discussion with your child about them. For step-by-step directions on how to view report cards or progress reports on the Parent Portal, please see step 5 of this document posted on our website: https://goo.gl/SwxnZ3. Celebrate accomplishments and help students come up with a plan for addressing areas of needed improvement. Even though students at this age want greater levels of autonomy and freedom, it’s still important for parents to actively monitor their child’s educational progress.

The third trimester began on Monday, March 2. All teacher gradebooks from the previous trimester will be wiped clean. This gives all students an opportunity for a fresh start. I highly encourage all parents to monitor teacher gradebooks on the Parent Portal at least weekly. For step-by-step directions on how to view teacher gradebooks on the Parent Portal, please review this document posted on our website: https://goo.gl/SwxnZ3. More frequent monitoring may be required for students who are struggling in one or more classes. Red boxes mean there are missing assignments. Students with low grade percentages and missing assignments will need more support from parents at home. Please consider reaching out to teachers and/or our school counselors, as needed.
