The Venado Science Department is pleased to announce that it has received a $17,000 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) grant from the Toshiba America Foundation (TAF). These funds will support all 8th grade science classes. Our science curriculum strives to provide students a hands-on learning experience that promotes collaboration and creativity to solve real-world problems.

Toshiba America Foundation’s grants fund projects designed by individual classroom teachers. This “direct-to-teacher” approach brings immediate results. Teachers are able to change the way they teach Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) because the grant supports equipment for hands-on experiments and inquiry-based approaches to the curriculum. The TAF grant provides our teachers with the tools they need to be more effective educators, and makes the classroom a more exciting place for both teachers and students.
