This is a friendly reminder that we have updated our district practice for the Annual Residence Verification process. In an effort to honor parent time, we are using the latest technology to verify residency by working with a third party software service. The software will allow staff to conduct electronic residence verification for the district in an efficient manner, and significantly reduce parent time needed to satisfy annual residence verification.
The district started using this technology service for the Annual Residence Verification process on February 13, 2020. The electronic residence verification process will provide residence verification for 80%-90% of IUSD families. For addresses that have been electronically verified, families WILL NOT have to submit any further paperwork for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. This will leave approximately 10%-20% of families that will need to provide their school with standard residence verification documents for a manual review.
Parents started receiving notifications beginning on February 28, 2020 regarding the status of their residence verification. If the student’s residence was not verified electronically, parents will receive instructions from Venado on how to complete the standard residence verification process. Residence Affidavits will now be added to the data confirmation (re-registration) process at the beginning of each school year. All families will complete and submit an updated Residence Affidavit at the beginning of each school year to the school office.
